The Mike Atherton Band were a four piece from Lancaster UK who blended blues, funk, jazz and prog rock to produce a sound rarely heard these days. Mike Atherton, as the band name would suggest is the main songwriter, his unique fast vibrato vocal style and experimental guitar playing is exactly why he is the driving force behind this band.
Mike is joined by his former Underground Ballroom bandmate and keyboard player Jake Jackson who adds his usual inventiveness to great effect throughout all five tracks of this mini album.
On drums is Paul Burgess, notable for his association with a wide range of British rock and folk-rock bands, he has been an official member of 10cc, Jethro Tull, Camel, Magna Carta, and The Icicle Works.
Creative bass player Joel Allison glues the low end together with his infectious grooves and musicality.
